If I had to do it again, I think I would have gone with the non rapid release. My fit was slightly off, so it's pretty frustrating to take them on and off. I just leave them on all the time. I just wanted them to support my Nelson-Rigg saddlebags, so I do not use them with the Givi cases. They were one of the cheapest options at the time of purchase. They do have a protruding tab at the top of the side frame (I assume this is something to do with Givi cases) that prevents the bags from laying flat against the frame.
